Course terms

1. How a booking comes about

A request made through this website is non-binding. It is a wish, not a contract. A booking only becomes binding with our explicit confirmation — via WhatsApp, by email or verbally at the base.

Prices, course times and availability on this website are stated without obligation. The price we state in the confirmation is always the one that applies.

2. Payment

Payment is made on site at the base — cash (euros or Egyptian pounds) or by card. No payment takes place through this website, and we do not require a deposit.

Course prices are per person, package prices are for all participants named in the respective package together. Included are equipment, course materials, the certification fee and the hotel transfer within Hurghada.

3. Participation requirements

A minimum age and requirements according to PADI standards apply to every course. They are stated on each course page and are not negotiable:

• Bubblemaker — from age 8, comfortable in the water, maximum 2 metres depth in shallow water; run as a day trip by boat with one hour of one-to-one instruction from an instructor (at least 30 minutes of training and preparation on board, then a 30-minute dive) plus snorkelling on request.
• Junior Open Water Diver — from age 10, 200 metres of swimming and 10 minutes of treading water.
• Junior Advanced Open Water Diver — from age 12, Junior Open Water certification required.
• Open Water Diver — from age 15, 200 metres of swimming and 10 minutes of treading water.
• Advanced Open Water Diver — Open Water certification required.

Minors need the signature of a parent or legal guardian on all course documents. For the Bubblemaker, an adult companion must be present for the whole trip; they come along for free, and snorkelling including snorkel gear is included for them. If they hold a diving certification, they may dive along instead, likewise included. If they need rental diving equipment for this, a surcharge of €15 per day applies. Diving along must be stated when booking; the certification must be shown on site.

4. Health

The medical questionnaire must be filled in before the course starts. If a question is answered with yes, a clearance from a diving physician must be shown before participation. Without this clearance we cannot let anyone into the water — not even against a signature.

Please tell us about any health restrictions as early as possible, ideally already at the request stage. That way you can get the clearance at your leisure at home, instead of having to organise it in Hurghada on the day of the course.

Anyone with a cold or problems with equalising does not dive. In case of doubt, this decision is made by the instructor.

5. Weather and cancellations

Courses take place daily. Theory sessions practically never fall through. Boat trips can be cancelled at short notice in strong wind — the decision is made by the captain together with the port authority and is not negotiable.

If a day falls through, we move it to another day of your stay. If this isn’t possible because you’re departing, we only charge for the services actually provided.

We recommend not scheduling course days on the last two days of your holiday, so a buffer remains.

6. Stopping because of the child

If a child doesn’t want to continue, we end the course — without trying to talk them into it. In that case only what actually took place is charged.

This isn’t a goodwill promise, it’s how we work: a child who is talked into it is the most reliable way to ensure they never become a diver.

7. Uncompleted courses

If a participant doesn’t complete the course content within the booked time, we issue a certificate for the parts completed (referral). This allows the course to be continued and completed at any PADI base worldwide — including at home. In this case there is no refund for the uncompleted course parts, since the service has been provided.

8. Cancellation and no-show

Since we do not take a deposit, you can cancel or reschedule a confirmed booking free of charge up until the day before. Just let us know via WhatsApp.

In case of a no-show without cancellation, we reserve the right not to reserve the course place again — especially in high season, when places are scarce.

9. Hotel transfer

Within Hurghada, the transfer is included in the course price. For Makadi Bay, Soma Bay, Sahl Hasheesh and El Gouna, a surcharge of €20 per day per vehicle applies — not per person.

We let you know the pick-up time the evening before. Please be in the hotel lobby at the agreed time: the vehicle usually visits several hotels, and delays push back the start for everyone.

10. Equipment

Complete equipment is included in the price for all course participants — in children’s sizes for children. If you bring your own equipment, we check it before the first dive; we reserve the right to refuse equipment that is obviously unsuitable or unsafe.

The participant, or their legal guardian, is liable for damage to or loss of rented equipment caused by gross negligence.

11. Behaviour at the reef

Corals and animals are not touched, nothing is taken, nothing is fed. This isn’t a request, it’s a condition of participation — and the first principle every child learns with us.

12. Liability

Diving is a sport with its own risks. We run all courses according to PADI standards and are subject to supervision by the Chamber of Diving & Watersports (CDWS). We are liable for damages according to the statutory provisions; liability for damages arising from failure to follow our instructors’ instructions or from incorrect information in the medical questionnaire is excluded.

We expressly recommend taking out dive accident insurance. Also check whether your travel or overseas health insurance covers diving — many do not do so automatically.

13. Image rights

Photos taken during the course are given to you. Publication of images in which children are recognisable only takes place with your express consent, revocable at any time. Details are in the privacy policy.
