Age limits & requirements
Minimum age
15 years (younger: Junior Advanced from 12)
Prior experience
Required: PADI Open Water Diver or an equivalent certification from another agency.
Swimming skills
Already demonstrated on the Open Water Diver — no new test.
Health
Medical questionnaire before the course; if any answer is yes, clearance from a diving medicine doctor.

Two days that change the rest of the week
If you already dive and your child is doing their course, the Advanced is the most obvious way to use the time. No exam — five dives in the sea, each with its own theme.
Navigation and deep diving are required. You choose the other three: buoyancy control, wreck diving, fish identification, drift diving or underwater photography. After the course you can dive to 30 metres — and many of the most beautiful sites around Hurghada start exactly where the Open Water limit ends.
The practical side effect for families: the Advanced takes two days, your child’s Junior Open Water Diver three to four. So you finish earlier and can follow your child’s last course days from the boat.
