Who we are

Our team

Diving with children is different from diving with adults. It takes patience, a feel for moods and the willingness to do an exercise for the tenth time — because the tenth time is when it clicks.

The dive centre

Bubblemakers is the kids’ programme of Funny Divers

Bubblemakers Hurghada is not a new diving school built from scratch, but the children’s and family programme of the Funny Divers Diving Center in Hurghada. That is important information for you: behind it stands a dive centre with its own boat, a permanent team and a track record — not a provider who might not be around next year.

The dive centre is run by Ahmed Mahmoud Ali and Nasser Maher Hamada. They are also the people to talk to if something ever doesn’t go as it should.

What we have added for the kids’ courses is the supervision: smaller groups, more time per skill and instructors who choose to work with children — not because they happen to be on the rota.

Who is in the water

Four roles on a course day

On a normal course day, your child deals with these four people.

🧑‍🏫

The instructor

PADI-certified, responsible for training and safety. The instructor decides when a child is ready for the next step — and when not.

🤿

The guide

On the reef with you, knows the sites and the animals. The guide leads the group while the instructor focuses on training.

The boat crew

Captain and crew. They keep the boat in the right place, help with getting in and out of the water and cook lunch.

🚐

The driver

Picks you up at the hotel and brings you back. We only give the driver your name, hotel, time and number of people — nothing more.

What matters to us

Why teaching children works differently

01

Repeat rather than move on

Adults say when they haven’t understood something. Children nod. That’s why we repeat skills until we see — not hear — that they have sunk in. It takes longer, and it is the reason our groups are small.

02

Take moods seriously

A child who suddenly goes quiet is usually not tired but unsure. Our instructors are trained to notice this and replan the day before it turns into a bad experience.

03

No persuading

We never talk a child into the water. Not because it’s easier for us, but because children who are talked into it are the ones who never dive again. Stopping today is better than a bad experience forever.

04

Involve the parents

You can always watch. But we will also tell you openly if your presence is making your child more nervous right now — it happens and it is nothing personal.

Languages

Which language we teach in

We teach in four languages: German, English, French and Arabic. Especially on a first course, the native language is a real advantage — underwater everyone communicates with hand signals anyway, but the explanations beforehand need to be clear.
