This course is for you if you are excited about diving, tight on schedule, and still want to walk away with a licence. The PADI Scuba Diver certification is a genuine, worldwide-recognised card — it simply covers the first two thirds of the Open Water Diver course.
As a certified Scuba Diver you dive to a maximum of 12 metres under the direct supervision of a PADI professional. That is exactly how most holiday divers dive anyway.
Knowledge development comes first, usually through PADI eLearning so you can do it at home before you travel. It covers the principles of scuba diving, the safety rules and the vocabulary.
Confined water follows: you get into the gear and learn the core skills — mask clearing, regulator recovery, buoyancy — in shallow, protected water.
Then two open water dives on the reef, where those skills become second nature.
Nothing is wasted. Whenever you are ready — next week, next year, at any PADI centre in the world — you can upgrade to full Open Water Diver by completing the remaining knowledge sections and two more open water dives.
Many of our guests do exactly that: Scuba Diver on a short first trip, the upgrade on their second visit to Hurghada.
The Red Sea is about as forgiving as training water gets: warm all year, clear enough to see your instructor from a long way off, and busy with fish from the very first metre.

Each step builds on the one before it. Emergency First Response sits alongside the ladder rather than on it — it is a first aid course, required before Rescue Diver, and open to non-divers as well.
