Gota Abu Ramada

The most famous site near Hurghada. Exceptional fish diversity — napoleon fish, parrotfish, and massive schools of glassfish surround you in every direction.

Small Giftun

A 15–25m plateau on the south side of the Giftun police station, with a steep wall that plunges far deeper — a favourite of technical divers.

Fanous East

Gentle currents carry you past stunning sea fans and gorgonians. Excellent for drift diving with moray eels and lionfish in the overhangs.

Shabruhr Umm Gamaar

Part of the Umm Gamaar complex. Strong seasonal currents bring grey reef sharks. Excellent wall formations and large sea fans.

Also known as Camel Reef — a big erg with three peaks on a long plateau, kept in pristine condition by the current. Soft corals, anthias and glassfish everywhere.

Gorgeous table corals and sea fans in every direction. A beautiful, relaxed site ideal for underwater photography.

Close to Hurghada and ideal for training dives. Look for seahorses, nudibranchs, and blue-spotted stingrays among the soft corals.

The Wreck

El Minya

An Egyptian minesweeper sunk in 1970, now resting on her portside just outside the harbour. Glassfish fill her openings while lionfish and jackfish hunt them through the wreck.

Hamda

Also called Stone Beach or Lion's Head. A tiny wall drops into a slope and then a stepped drop, with towers, caverns and swim-throughs covered in soft corals.
